©2004. By Jenny Clark Brack. Written by a school-based occupational therapist, this hands-on resource contains a sensory integration program designed for preschool and early childhood classrooms. The book contains 50 lesson plans that have been created for an inclusive environment, and each lesson presents a theme that consists of seven related sensorimotor activities performed in the following developmental sequence: warm-up period; vestibular exercise; proprioception task; balance activity; eye-hand coordination exercise; cool-down time; and fine motor task. The author includes activity, literature, and materials suggestions for each lesson plan, and she also provides strategies for adapting tasks, planning activities, and problem solving. Written primarily for therapists and teachers, this transdisciplinary program utilizes best practices techniques as it helps children build school readiness skills and fulfill their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. (Softcover; 188 pages.)
