c2005. By Laurie Eckenrode, Pat Fennell, and Kathy Hearsey. In this third book in the Tasks Galore series, the authors draw on their experiences as teachers and therapists with Division TEACCH to describe procedures and tasks that can make group learning successful. They discuss how aspects of Structured Teaching (physical structure, schedules, work systems, and visual structure) are applicable to groups. They further demonstrate how routines related to turn-taking procedures, task completion, appropriate group behavior, and transitions between classrooms ease students into group participation. Activities from circle time, project, dance, physical education, and music groups give ideas about successful tasks. Many examples show how tasks can be individualized for students within a group setting and how aspects from school groups can then be utilized for successful parties at home. Multiple color photographs are included to illustrate the concepts. (Spiral bound; 71 pages.)
