©2008. By Michelle Garcia Winner. Think Social! A Social Thinking Curriculum for School-Age Students details step by step methods of how to teach social and communication skills to students and adults with autism spectrum disorders. The eight chapters include 69 detailed lessons with worksheets and vocabulary. The lessons teach students how to work and think in a group and include strategies for fitting in during different social situations, information on how to use and interpret both verbal and nonverbal language to understand how communication happens, and overall communication strategies for school aged children through adulthood. Individualized education plan (IEP) goal suggestions that can help reinforce the concepts are integrated into each chapter and are included on the CD. Teachers, parents, therapists and other caregivers are encouraged to change the lessons to fit the individualís needs. A CD with comprehensive goals and standards is included with each book.

Think Social! A Social Thinking Curriculum for School-Age Students is written by the author who also wrote, Thinking About YOU Thinking About ME.
(Softcover, plus CD-ROM; 373 pages.)
