©2000. By Cornelia Maude Spelman, ACSW, LCSW. Illustrated by Nancy Cote. This colorfully illustrated picture book was created to help children understand the difference between feeling angry and acting out those feelings. The story is told from the perspective of a young rabbit as she describes the various types of situations that cause her to feel angry. She then explains how she can calm her anger by removing herself from an unpleasant situation, deep breathing, exercising, or doing something she enjoys. The story emphasizes that children can take a proactive role in managing their anger by making self-affirming choices that aren't harmful to others. The author also encourages parents to to manage their own anger in order to show that they value conflict resolution. For children ages 4-8. (Softcover; 22 pages.)
